We’re proud to be a heritage member of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, and also the Westernmost spot. While the past year has been anything but normal, we are still welcoming visitors for tours and tasting experiences, of course with special rules in place to help keep everyone safe.

Many have asked what they can expect when they come for a visit right now. We’re pretty much business as usual focused helping our visitors learn about whiskey, and of course sipping some samples! With COVID-19, there are of course a few exceptions. Reservations are required and can be booked online at www.greenriverdistilling.com/visit-us/. Our tour groups are kept smaller because we require social distancing at all times. Masks are also required, except when you’re sipping of course! We’ve been so appreciative to our visitors for following these rules to help us keep our team and fellow whiskey lovers safe. Also, while we’re talking about rules, you must be 21 to sample. You don’t need to be 21 to take a tour. Ok, now that that’s out of the way, here’s details on the fun stuff:

Full Distillery Tour and Tasting: Our tours last approximately 60 minutes and are very much a “behind the scenes” look at our historic distillery and traditional bourbon whiskey production. Tours are given rain or shine and you will be walking around both the inside and outside of an active distillery. Depending on the time of year, the route may include wide temperature differences. Our tour currently requires all guests to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs and over some uneven ground. It can be noisy in the production areas and most buildings are not temperature controlled. Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. We promise it is worth it! ($15, reservations required)

Sit and Sip: Relax in the comfort of our tasting room while you learn a brief history of the facility and taste three of our bourbons. This lasts approximately 30 minutes and is not a walking tour. It’s a relaxing way to take in the sights and tastes of our distillery. ($10, reservations required)

Gift Shop and Cocktail Lounge: Visitors are welcome to stop by to visit our gift shop with great Green River merchandise like tasting glasses, t-shirts and more. We also have a cocktail lounge on site for those who want to grab a cocktail on-site at our historic distillery. (Check our website for the most up-to-date hours.)

For those who have visited, you’ve seen our Green River revival come to life, and we have many more exciting updates in store. Stay tuned!
