Did you know we are a heritage member of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail? Because we’re on the western end, many visitors start or end their Kentucky Bourbon trail experience at our distillery.
This summer, people are looking for fun experiences to book as they plan their getaways. For many, it’s their first time easing back into travel. Whether you’re flying in or driving from a nearby city, the Kentucky Bourbon Trail has so much to offer. From tours and tastings at distilleries to exploring new restaurants and hotels in cities where Bourbon is a huge part of life, now’s a great time to come visit.
The Kentucky Bourbon Trail’s website has some great information on planning your trip. You can take a peek at the 37 distilleries in the state that open their doors to visitors and find out what events are happening within your timeline.
Here at Green River, we’re excited to see more and more visitors stopping by. We’ve been busy since reviving the Green River name at its original home, so it’s great to have more people coming through our doors to see all the changes we’ve made.
We’re open daily for distillery tours and tasting experiences and you can find the latest hours and information here. Here’s a rundown of our offerings…
Full Distillery Tour and Tasting: Our tours last approximately 60 minutes and are very much a “behind the scenes” look at our historic distillery and traditional bourbon whiskey production. Tours are given rain or shine and you will be walking around both the inside and outside of an active distillery. Depending on the time of year, the route may include wide temperature differences. Our tour currently requires all guests to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs and over some uneven ground. It can be noisy in the production areas and most buildings are not temperature controlled. Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. We promise it is worth it! ($15, reservations required)
Sit and Sip: Relax in the comfort of our tasting room while you learn a brief history of the facility and taste three of our bourbons. This lasts approximately 30 minutes and is not a walking tour. It’s a relaxing way to take in the sights and tastes of our distillery. ($10, reservations required)
Gift Shop and Cocktail Lounge: Visitors are welcome to stop by to visit our gift shop with great Green River merchandise like tasting glasses, t-shirts and more. We also have a cocktail lounge on site for those who want to grab a cocktail on-site at our historic distillery. (Check our website for the most up-to-date hours.)
So this summer, we’d love to have you visit, and we know our fellow distilleries on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail would feel the same.
